Guten morgen! Awoke this morning to a beautiful sunrise in the town of Swisttal-Heimerzheim, outside of Cologne.
A few first impressions of Germany experienced thus far:
1. Our hosts are incredibly friendly, insightful, gracious and fun!
2. There is significant more concern about the environment. Conservation of water and land is apparent. The air is clear.
3. The landscape reminds me of Kentucky: beautiful rivers, evergreen trees, diverse terrain and limestone. The similarities are fascinating.
4. Another big similarity with home is the significant UPS prescence at the Bonn-Cologne airport. Big Brown is doing some major business here.
5. Transportation appears to be incredibly smart. The roads appear to be well conceived.
I am looking forward to our adventures later today in Cologne!
