Making final preparations

Guten tag!

We'll be departing for our month long Rotary Group Study Exchange to Germany in about a week. We've spent the past few weeks preparing for our trip. Michael, Becky and I just wrapped up a German language course.

We had the opportunity recently to meet up with the Germans that have been visiting Kentucky at the Louisville Rotary Club meeting. They were an amazing group and appeared to be enjoying their experience in Kentucky!

Last weekend, Ashley and Amanda hosted the group in Bowling Green, KY, where we finalized the presentation we'll make to the various German Rotary Clubs. Amanda and Ashley provided us a tour of their alma mater - Western Kentucky University.

We received our tentative trip itinerary (it's detailed - 33 pages) and we are making the final arrangements to be out of the country for the next month. Some of the places we expect to visit include: Cologne, Bonn, Dusseldorf, Eifel, Koblenz, Aachen, Wuppertal, Hilden and Berlin.

Several of our German hosts have already reached out to welcome us! I'm really looking forward to learning more about some of the growth sectors of the Germany economy and having the opportunity to meet with representatives of Germany's leading firms.

We recently learned we are the first GSE team from the United States to be a part of an exchange with this region in Germany. We're excited to share this experience together and spread some Kentucky goodwill to our German hosts!

Auf Widerhoren!
